Ovarian Cysts
An ovary is an important part of the female reproduction system and it is responsible for proper reproductory function in a woman. Most of the pain arising from the ovaries indicates diseases that can be treated with proper medication and rest. Only 4 to 5 percent of the cases are diagnosed as cancer or malignant tumors.
Ovarian pain is a common sign for most of the gynecological problems. All kinds of hormonal imbalance affect the ovaries. Pain in the ovaries is not an unusual feature for a pre-menopausal woman. There is a fairly good chance that it is quite benign; however, consistent pain and associated symptoms should not be ignored.
Ovarian cyst is a common gynecological disorder seen in most of the middle-aged women. This includes functional cysts that are reported to be harmless and asymptomatic. Common follicular cysts can sometimes cause pain. Moderate medication and rest can alleviate the problem. Less than 4 or 5 percent of the cases are detected to be malignant in nature.
Ovarian cysts are of various types and nature. Depending upon their etiology, their size and symptomatic effect varies from person to person. Even though ovarian cysts do not lead to severe diseases, its symptomatic treatment is essential. These cysts can be detected only through a proper pelvic examination or an endovaginal ultrasound.
